The three childless days we spend in Austin every year always tempt me to exclusively switch between a robe and these pajamas, but I also want to feel like a person in one of my favorite places. The outfits have to be simple and effortless or I literally won’t get dressed—my eternal philosophy—and my wardrobe for this trip really sums me up.
This post is too long for email so click ‘view more’ at the end or read it in full right here.
I can’t express how chic a leather mule is while also allowing me the ease of slipping on a birkenstock slide. 10/10. I bought these months ago from the men’s section, but linked identical options here and highly recommend adding a pair to your wardrobe.
The outfit I changed into when I knew i’d be between our room and the courtyard to sit in the sun. This old Target pullover is still the stuff of dreams paired with my favorite tee and the men’s pajama pants I’ve owned for over a decade. This crewneck and this crewneck are the closest I’ve found and my nuuds pajama pants are the perfect replica to finally compare with these ancient ones. Still obsessed with the phone case.
I’ve had this embroidered Louis Vuitton purse for 15 years and the H&M top for at least seven. But the boxer shorts I've worn every other day are new and I’m hooked. I sized up as always . Thanks to a reader, I found a nearly identical green suede sandal here.
I bought this Isabel Marant jacket on sale in Napa in 2013. Some things you just don’t forget, you know? Easily my most worn jacket ever of all time and so precious to me for whatever reason, probably because I bought it after graduating college and felt so proud. The tee is my typical and the pants are these drawstring Everlane trousers.
Same trousers and same tank linked above, just threw on a cardigan for a freezing nail salon.
This dress comes in stock and sells out instantly about three times a year. I’m so glad I got my hands on it, but mostly can’t wait to wear it over long sleeves in the Fall and Winter. This is similar, but a lighter weight while mine is wool.
H&M is still having a great Sale so if you want to replicate any of these looks, this is your first stop.
This is my road trip salad. She’s not fancy, but she’s predictable and drowning in hemp seeds, slivered almonds, dried cranberries, carrots and paleo chicken.
Hotel snack I can’t be without: coconut from Whole Foods. Just trust me on this one.
Being close to a Sweetgreen is one of the greatest gifts. I always ask for a small refrigerator in our room since I bring tons of my own snacks, also so I can order double of the same salad on my first day. I usually eat it for dinner one day and lunch the next—hotel fries really made this a perfect meal.
All the hearty salads for me. This Honey Mustard Chicken Salad from Honest Mary’s was incredible. I added pickled onions, herbs and maple roasted carrots and wish I could have it every day.
Mission Burger Co. is a must visit if you’re dairy-free or vegan in Austin. It’s some of O’s favorite vegan food anywhere on the planet, but the star for me is this vegan soft serve that rivals anything I’ve ever had. I’ve been dairy free for nearly eight years, but I remember exactly what it tastes like and this is even better.
Jo’s Coffee is right across the street from the hotel so I walked there every morning to read with a decaf vanilla almond milk latte. The stuff of dreams.
Zuchinni Kill for gluten-free and vegan desserts is a must, I just didn’t go this time. I did, however, get VIA313 Detroit Style Pizza (the gluten-dree crust, no cheese) which I highly recommend. No photographic evidence, but it’s un-missable.
That was it for this quick trip!
Ok, but the green thong sandals are from where? I’m dying to know if they’re the same ones I’ve been eying from Reformation and if so, I must know, are they comfortable? Looking for a chic, comfy sandal for my upcoming trip to Italy!
