No. 105: If I Were Shopping: The Dream September Wish List
The spending freeze monthly roundup of saves and swoons.
I realize some people might find this counter productive, but despite being on a spending freeze, I still work as a stylist and have an eye on the fashion pulse every single week. I’m regularly doing link roundups for clients, making moodboards and saving pins for the current season so this is the list of items I’d scoop up if Daddy Warbucks said I needed to start my wardrobe from scratch on his dime and the more realistic list of the five pieces I’d add to my existing wardrobe this month if we were shopping. The few outfits I wore this week can be found on my LTK if you were looking to scratch that itch.
I’ve had my eye on the Prada barn jacket (also known as a field jacket) since it was sent down the runway last year and while it sold out everywhere almost instantly (and is another $ piece,) thankfully it has become the biggest trend of this season making it widely available. This plaid interior version tops my list along with this stunning one and this reliable Everlane one, both at very reasonable prices.
Daddy Warbucks Lump Sum:
barn jacket. glasses. navy trousers. brown midi coat. sneakers. A.Emery clogs. denim dress. tall suede boots. open-tie-back mix plaid button down. toteme brown bag. jeans. prada velvet slides. floral maxi dress. leather trench coat. oxblood Mansur Gavriel purse.
These are all brands I trust, love and already own something from (minus the sneakers). I’m a huge fan of all of them and while some items are pretty up there in price, this is on DW’s dime so I feel great about it.
5 Pieces For my Existing Wardrobe—September Edition:
grey cardigan. barn jacket. white button down. perfect brown boots. jeans.
The amount of time it took me to narrow this down lets you know I legit was acting as if these items would magically appear in my closet when I finished. Unfortunately, that’s not how this works. If you’ve been here for any length of time, you know a grey cardigan has been on my wishlist since Spring. And a great tall brown boot tops the list to pair under flowy dresses, longer skirts and to wear with shorter pieces. If I could add a couple honorary mentions, you know this bright green sweater or this striped knit from the same brand have been on my list for months. This green Reformation cardigan is another honorable mention because I’m currently so well acquainted with the holes in my wardrobe—green is something I could use a pop of.
I hope you find this helpful—be sure to follow on Pinterest for more up-to-date inspiration.
Hi Jill!! Loving these roundups. Both the Staud and the Khaite (?) boots are soooo gooood. Do you know of any good lower price point options!!?
