our range was installed on day three and it instantly made everything feel complete.

In last week’s letter, we talked about day one of our move in adventure and here we are, one week later, six nights of sleeping in the new house under our belts. Our company came on Tuesday night—our second night in the house—and left yesterday which made the first week feel even more special. Also, as you can imagine, that also made the week feel like it was an entire year long. It’d be easy to doubt whether or not we made the right decision to move when we did and even despite things still not being completely finished, I’ve never doubted the call. I’ve absolutely loved the first-hand progression of living here with no appliances, no glass in the front door, wonky electrical switch control and no running water on the first floor for the first day to where we are now less than a full week later. Everything that gets installed and completed feels like Christmas and it’s been a week for the books.

The nerves that follow peeling off the blue protective tape after having the countertops sealed and covered for months were wild.
