This week was for all the cozy things as I dealt with staggered colds with the littles and a busy work week for myself. Praise God for happy sweats. I always arrive to my hair appointment with bone straight hair, get it cut, get it colored and leave with it sopping wet so I don’t actually style it until all my kids are in bed and every time, I send a photo of the finished product to my sister. this was that photo. It felt like a dream to not see five inches of roots for the first time in weeks. I’ve been using a few new products for the past month and have noticed the biggest difference in the shine and strength of my hair—I’ll link them at the bottom of this post. my milk supply always takes a ton of effort and attention at the 6/7 month mark and keeping my supply up has become a full time job lately. making some recipe mashup of lactation cookie without the brewers yeast was the game changer last week, even though oats aren’t the best for my thyroid. It’s a give and take. I’m also not currently eating sugar so hu chocolate chips for the win. I used premade gluten free pizza dough to make beef empanadas for the kids and they were absolutely obsessed. the big kids instantly packed the leftovers for lunch the next day and gobbled every last bit up—highly recommend. this paleo turkey meatball recipe took longer than I anticipated with the browning phase (I doubled it) but my goodness, it was incredible. I served it over rice from earlier in the week for the kids and ate them alone for myself…10/10. if you’re a simple mills pancake lover because of gluten and dairy restrictions—can I suggest the bob’s red mill gluten free pancake mix ? It makes at least double for less than the price of one box of simple mills and while it’s not paleo, it is fairly clean. blueberry pancakes for sunday morning breakfast have been a whole lot quicker lately. met a friend for dinner at true food—a date that was initially in december and was moved three times due to different kid germs. can any other mom relate? the kale salad with a korean noodle bowl is my forever favorite. sweetgreen is the eternal love of my life but is a solid 50 minutes from me which means I only get it on days when I’m in Dallas proper. Thank the Lord my hair salon is strategically downtown or else I’d never get to enjoy my beloved. this lunch is still going strong. I eat two turkey burger patties at a time which makes the four pack quite expensive, but it’s work it to buy every few weeks if it means lunch is as simple as tossing green beans in the air fryer and cooking these patties for less than ten minutes. my paleo protein mug cake has been a simple joy this week. It’s not a perfect science since mine pretty much never rises and I can’t recommend a recipe because I haven’t perfected it. but the christmas mug I painted years ago makes me happy and I look forward to the barely sweet treat to get me by. 1. good american waist control jeans . 2. target everyday plate . 3. a bright pink sweatsuit. 4. eternal mvp, cork placemat . 5. hair game changer ( bonding oil ) 6. hair game changer two ( leave-in treatment ) 7. game changer three ( bond smoother and frizz reducer ) and 8. hair game changer four ( blowout spray and heat protectant .)
