Y’all.

I wrote a children’s book!!!!!

the final cover design (!!) but, of course, not the actual hardcover copy

Before I begin, I need to address Wednesday’s poll for a quick second. I woke up to a text from Hunter saying the link in my newsletter led to a page that declared the poll was “closed.” Instant panic. My mind went immediately to solving the problem and clacking away at my keyboard in one hand while holding E and nursing in the other hand so I didn’t have a chance to even think about my emails. Once the problem was solved, (meaning the credit card was handed over) I got to open my inbox in a calmer, more rational state to make sure there wasn’t any damage control needed and, guys. There you all were. The emails upon emails with the kindest phrasing and variations of, “Hi Jill! Sorry if it’s the 200th time you’re reading this, maybe it was intentional? But it says the poll ended. I’d love to take it if you want me to! I love this newsletter so much” had me nearly in tears. We’re all so similar, friends. And I don’t know what it was exactly about the broken poll but I guess seeing just how many of you were ready and willing at 6am to answer questions you didn’t have to answer meant the world to me. Thank you.

Okay! The book!

I’ll share more about how this book came to be when we’re closer to launch day in the Fall, but today I think I’m allowed to give you a glimpse into the “why” of Left Out.
