The Meal Plan + What I Wore

my sister’s sunglasses saved the day. alpaca knit. under $100 jeans. socks. birks.

This is the kind of week where I needed to back through my camera roll to remember what even happened. Monday felt like three months ago, you know? In seasons of grief and trudging through difficulty, I’m surprised but not shocked with how much my outfits are impacted. I range from wanting to get dressed to feel more like myself when other things are out of control to dreading switching my sweatpants out for denim because even something as minuscule as an uncomfortable fabric would be the last straw. I actually did get dressed in a “put-together” outfit every day this week, though I didn’t always photograph it. I’m glad we can witness this slump together real-time because this is real life. I know November and December feels like a non-stop stretch of glitz and glamour on our phone screens, but there’s lots of heaviness and hard, too. Just a reminder for all of us.

In this letter:

+ the very best denim shirt that just so happens to be $34
+ the healthy hamburger helper recipe I make on repeat this time of year
+ this week’s meal plan

sezane cardigan. old agolde jeans. yes, I need a trim.

This was my outfit for my Wednesday workday where I sit in front of the fire in my room for hours to work until I can’t feel my legs and need to switch to the walking pad and a t-shirt. It’s a process.

this coat is such a phenomenal one. I’ve had it for over a year and love that the brand keeps restocking it. favorite investment bag I’ve had for years—identical less expensive version here

We spent Friday at the Arboretum with family exploring and calling it a homeschool excursion. The 12 Days of Christmas is always such a fun event to wander through if you live in the area. It’s rare to find a coat so oversized that is decently lightweight and less than $200 so this one is always a great one to invest in to me.
