Hello from Broken Bow, friends. We’ve reached the point of the spending freeze (two months in) where I’m frustrated. I’m tired of wearing the same things every single week. My body has done strange things which means many of my clothes fit some weeks and don’t even come close to wearable other weeks. I’m craving the dopamine hit of newness, that excitement when you slip on a new pair of pants/jacket/sweater that is equal parts cozy and cute. Then I look to the situation happening currently in North Carolina, Florida and Tennessee and feel absolutely ridiculous to be even an ounce of discontent with a closet full of warm, dry clothes. I just wanted to be honest today because I know many of you are in the same place here at the start of October. You’re not alone.

I wore this outfit for bloodwork and a meeting. I’m determined to wear this linen circle skirt as many times as possible this year because the shape is one of the most flattering things I own in my closet right now. I love toughening it up with leather and loafers, but I truly don’t mind letting it be sweet and feminine all on its own. I also love it in the sand shade.
I did a quick change for a styling session and you already know my number one go-to—my own merch. I genuinely can’t help it, this is the most comfortable sweatshirt I own.
Last week, I shared my entire curly hair routine this week because it’s was the question dominating my DMs. It’s taken me years to nail a system down and I’m pretty obsessed with the current setup.
This week was Pink Out at the kids school for Homecoming and Breast Cancer Awareness month. I’m gonna be honest and say I wish I got this set in a more versatile and neutral color given the fact that it’s the only thing I want on my body most days when I need to look presentable but want to feel like I’m in pajamas. That being said, the shape is perfect and the pink is sweet enough that it works. A note to my future self: get the neutral first. I’m genuinely asking for another color for Christmas, I’m that obsessed with the coziness

The question is, how many times can I wear this outfit? Genuinely. It’s the outfit I reach for when I want to look more put together than sweats, I have my period and don’t want anything touching my body and also want a cool chic thing going on. but this has been on my body every week for months and it’s the outfit that got me in the spending-freeze blues. At least the cost-per-wear on both items has reached $0
It was a good week in the kitchen for sourdough. You already know the recipe.
This Crockpot Spicy Chicken Tortilla Soup is a favorite in our kitchen. It’s perfect served with cornbread and honey, fresh sourdough or lots of tortilla chips.
We’ve loved this Curried Butternut Squash Soup so much but if curry isn’t your thing (I can almost promise it would be) I love this recipe equally. The shallots are the secret in both of them.

You know the drill by know—the day of bloodwork calls for a double scoop at my favorite ice cream shop in town.
Lastly, for those of you who have asked for years about buying the leftover mugs and prints from my last Holiday product launch, you’re in luck. Starting on Friday October 11th, you’ll be able to purchase a mystery box as an add-on with any Merch purchase. Save up your pennies and get your carts ready!
Shoot I hate to ask but where is your sourdough recipe? I must have missed it 🫣 looks delicious!
The pink sweatsuit links didn't work. Do you happen to know the name of the one you got? Thanks!!
