I bet I'm the first person on the planet to tell you it's Prime Day! I wish you could hear me say those words in real time but since you can't, know that the voice is Jennifer Coolidge and the smile is dripping in sarcasm. You know it's Prime Day. You’ve likely known it was coming because every influencer and every publication is begging you to come shop their links for weeks. Here I am--no better than the everyman, here to do the same thing.
First Things First
This is a bonus post as a response to requests from so many of you last week. I hope this roundup allows the sale to be a help rather than a harm and that you remember even when you’re bombarded with discounts that in two days, it’ll be over. If you’re not in a spending or shopping season, ignore this email and the blog post.
I’ll be back in your inbox on Friday with a deep reflection on what it was like to be back on Instagram for over a month after nearly three years off the app and you can tune in then instead.
My Prime Day Approach
While I'm only buying three or four things from the Nordstrom Sale, I am buying quite a few things from Prime Day because I treat it like Black Friday. All the things I've needed to purchase for the new house, all the back to school items and all the things I repurchase over and over again have been saved for this very day. I hope you're able to save in a way that helps rather than hurts and that you found this roundup to be just what you were looking for!
Prime Day Picks
You can head straight to my Prime Day shop right here. The things I’m picking up myself include this fan to keep in the bedrooms, this fan for outside, this mop recommended by every cleaning expert in the country that I’ve been waiting to purchase for months, potentially replacing my Apple watch since my four year old version died on me. We chose this air purifier after lots of research for a couple of the bedrooms since it’s less expensive than the molekule we’ve kept in the nursery for seven years and I’d love to grab one more as well. I’m also grabbing all the school supplies I can but I won’t link those because that’s a bit tedious. And boring.
The Shopbop 25% Off Prime Day Round Up
This blog post has every single one of my Shopbop picks because Shopbop has thousands of items 25% off for today and tomorrow. (Ignore the fact that the text there is almost identical to the text here, just skip to the good stuff.) As a gentle reminder, Shopbop tends to be a place you invest in higher quality pieces rather than Amazon shop prices so be mindful that ‘Sale’ still likely won’t get you to a price where you feel like you’re saving. However, some incredible new pieces are included and I myself have waited to get a new swimsuit, a couple new white tees since my natural deodorant destroys the armpits over time and a couple pieces of active wear. The shoes tend to be my favorite section because while my body fluctuates like crazy with the thyroid and pregnancies and breastfeeding and womanhood, my feet don’t change much at all. Unfortunately, Shopbop discriminates against boat feet so I don’t have the option—maybe it’s for the best. See the picks here.
I’ll see you Friday, friends.
