No. 82: The Ultimate Niche Mother's Day Gift Guide for Every Mother Figure in Your Life
Mama could use something special--this is the only gift guide you'll need to make it happen
Gift guides are my bread and butter. They always have been. I love when you send me super specific requests and when I get to pull together items that might make someone feel special and seen—especially when that someone is a mother or mother figure—few things make me happier. I don’t want to tell you how long I scour the internet to make each of these guides but I hope one of them is the perfect thing for mothers in your life.
I’ve shared before that I prefer to gift a few items that follow a theme. For the new mom on her first Mother’s Day, a pretty pitcher or vase with Trader Joes flowers, eye patches, bubble bath or bath soaks and some of her favorite snacks is a perfect grouping. For the Mom who loves nothing more than a great book, maybe an Audible or Barnes and Noble gift card, a book stamp from Etsy and some great coffee or tea might be a sweet surprise. I always try to take the person and season into consideration because my own mom prefers just telling us what she wants, straight up. No muss no fuss. All of this to say, you really can’t go wrong with a thoughtful gift, even if that gift is something that cost you zero dollars but a whole lot more. My old Instagram post still rings true.
And it goes without saying that these all serve as “treat yourself” moodboards as well. This post is, of course, too long for email so click ‘View More’ at the end or view the whole thing as intended right here.

This Solid Joy episode on fear blessed me so much this week. The wisdom and clarity John Piper can impart in a four minute span never ceases to amaze me.
This waterproof tote seems like the perfect pool, park or beach bag for the summer—the kind that lives in the car with empty spare water bottles and towels along with one of the canvas bags I’ve been obsessed with lately for the dry days. The speaker cooler above is the true *chefs kiss* finishing touch.
My sisters and I had an adult hotel sleepover last weekend and I’m packing up my kids tonight for another sleepover which has this article front and center in my mind.
Laura and Emily, the dream team, have done it again!! Their newest book, Gospel Mom, helps mothers make Biblical decisions for both themselves and their families in their tender, wise and right here with you voice. It’s available for pre-order now and I can’t wait for my copy.
I’ve heard so many great things about this book that released this week and I can’t wait to get my May Audible credit to scoop it up. Everyone from strangers on the internet, literary snobs and my own family members have been giddy with excitement over the very Nick and Jess-esque relationship. I’m still knee deep in Anxious Generation and Atomic Habits because I have both as hard copies and fall asleep reading them every night, but I look forward to this read.
Our kids only have two (TWO!!) weeks left of school, my life is fully consumed with house things and it feels like new projects are all aligning at once. One day, I’ll write about this time and share it all with you. One day when I can zoom out and see more of the story. For now, I’ll share the surface with you and thank you for being here to read it. For my fellow podcast lovers, will you share any favorite episodes in the comments? I’m listening to the same shows—mostly design and faith based—and I’m craving something fresh.
Until then, have a beautiful weekend, friends.
