This week was wild. Babies were born, colds were endured and I was solo parenting for the wildest stretch of Halloween parties and playoff games and everything in between. Here’s the diary.

site visit days. old mustard trench. grey jeans (almost sold out everywhere) rain boots.
old asos crewneck (similar). same grey jeans from above. …same bun all week.
we were all under the weather for a little bit last week and didn’t leave home for a stretch. this called for the heated neck wrap that soothes the aches, this cozy striped knit (sold out but identical here and similar here), these hundred year old pants (similar here) and knit socks. I’m not calling this outfit fashion, I’m calling it survival.
$12 phone case. ancient denim shirt. purse I considered my best purchase of 2022
picking up some goodies and a well deserved coffee to visit my sister-in-law who had her first baby last week. there are few things more delicious than newborn snuggles..especially when that newborn is your niece. I’ve worn these old Gap shearling slides to death over the years and wish I got multiple pairs (size 12 shoes are slim pickins) if you don’t wear a size 12 and have your pick of the litter, these shearling slides are the most popular for a reason, these are the incredible luxury version by one of my favorite brands and these are the “dupes” aka the $29 pair people rave about.
roasted veggies + quesadillas save the day
the same rice + roasted veggies from early in the week with my favorite salmon patties—loosely adapted from this recipe, but I do make a lot of changes
what’s better than a pressed vanilla freeze + almond butter?
O finally caught the cold so I made him a big pot of immunity soup. It calls for parsnips or sweet potatoes but I add both.
this isn’t stunning til’ it’s shredded, but pot roast was the big splurge of the week since the cold, rainy days called for it. I use this recipe and add potatoes. pot. cork place mats we’ve used for years.
there’s the beauty queen—shredded pot roast + rice from early in the week.
Oh girl so do we!! But it’s organic and like $6 a pop 😂😅
Thank you for taking the time to write these posts! They are one of the highlights of my week. A “simple joy” I treasure reading with a cup of hot coffee in hand. 🤗 Also, you are a wealth of knowledge as I’ve just been diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disorder (Graves) and I’m constantly looking for well vetted recipes and snack options that are free from gluten, dairy, processed sugar, etc.
