Thanks as always for the recs! If you’re ever hunting for a round up idea, I’m pining for a Jill-approved list of options to wear through pregnancy and postpartum that aren’t maternity clothes. The Aligne jeans and Nili Lotan pants are gold!!
And a few more... Random, but I just discovered the Vital Proteins chocolate collagen with coconut milk is SO good.
Specifically for people with chronic health issues, the song "she checks the weather" by johnnyswim, and the devotional "walking by faith" by Esther Smith ❤️
Love these!! I had a solid two years where that was my go-to protein with a banana, a splash of vanilla, almond milk, almond butter and heaps of ice. My personal frosty!
Listening to on repeat: the song "HIStory" by JUDAH
Wearing on repeat: the cozecore leggings from old navy are seriously the most comfortable leggings I own. Made 1000x this year (also great to make for other people when you need to deliver a meal): an adapted version of gimme some oven's cozy autumn wild rice soup; I use the crockpot directions and make it with chicken breast, and LOTS of carrots and celery.
Favorite book this year: The Outside Boy
Favorite beauty find: alpyn beauty juneberry + collagen face wash (from credo). It makes my skin feel so nice!
Your lists are always lovely! I can’t wait to try some of your suggestions.
Thinking of my own list was fun!
1. Re listening to old podcast episodes! More specifically Jon Tyson sermons (God Comes Where He’s Wanted: The Cry of the Home, We Want You Here: Consecration in a Time of Compromise), some of his Awaken Network episodes (The Call to Burn, Altar Of The Home, Tending The Flame, Time To Seek The Lord), various Tim Keller sermons and Knowing Faith episodes.
2. Books: The Great Omission (Dallas Willard), Beartown, The Valley of Vision, The Marlow Murder Club Series (Robert Thorogood), Knowing Christ (Mark Jones)
3. Just Ingredients electrolytes
4. Color Wow Dream Coat spray
5. Cupkin Hello Bugs Sticker Book from Amazon. My littles love it every time it comes out of my purse!
6. Simple Healthy Kitchen’s “Goat Cheese Appetizer with Honey, Fig & Pistachios”! It’s a crowd pleaser with very little prep.
7. Using a voice memo to pray for a friend. Sending/receiving/joining together in prayer that way has been more encouraging to me than a “I’ll pray for you/I prayed for you” text.
This is a phenomenal list!! I especially love the voice notes prayer idea. We have lots of overlap and for that reason, I’m jotting down all of your books!!
Some favorites from the year (but not all): 3 hydrangeas bouquets from Publix, the Entro brand dresses that I’ve worn on repeat, too many songs to count but two of them are “Keeper of My Soul (Psalm 121)” and “Abide”, and lastly the Wicked movie.
Loveeee this list. Amen to the TJ’s hydrangeas! And I beg of you, please grab a hot water bottle and it will become your favorite purchase of the year even if you only have it for one week before 2025 😭
Loved this list as always! The year has been long and my memory isn’t great — but here are some of my top-of-mind faves.
My books: Beartown (read on your rec and it destroyed me — just finished the second of the series), The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, Spells for Forgetting and The Unmaking of June Farrow
My shows and movies: Nobody Wants This and The Fall Guy (Put two amazing people together and watch them fall in love? Sign me up.)
My wardrobe: Skims crewneck sweatshirt, Vuori joggers, FLX wide-leg pants, those $8 Target tanks in every color
Surprise fave clothing item: the Harris Button-down in Denim from ABLE
TV Shows: the "Anne of Green Gables" mini-series from the late '80s is one of my personal faves, so it was really special to watch it with my girls for the first time after I read them an abridged version of the book.
I went with my bestie to see a local production of "Murder on the Orient Express," (so good!) which then inspired my husband and me to start re-watching some episodes of the BBC "Poirot" series.
Books: I don't think I would say it was a favorite, BUT "The Women" is a book I'll be thinking and talking about for a long time. My stepdad served in Vietnam, and talking to him about it led him to tell me some stories from his time over there that I'd never heard before.
"Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers" was so fun to read.
"Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls" is the perfect audiobook.
Katherine Center is one of my favorite authors, and I read four of her books last year (three new to me, one re-read). Even though I have a very definitive ranking system for her novels, you really can't go wrong.
This is SUCH a good list!!! I also love your take on The Women. I was so moved by it even without the Vietnam connection so that just had to be so special for you! Definitely taking notes here.
Fun! I have my “top 5” list scheduled for Monday 🤣 across many categories. A few faves from this year — nobody wants this, Beartown (I know you know!), Italy, seeing the eras tour, my hatch dupe alarm clock, and discovering Merit makeup ✨

Now this I’m 100% down for. In the meantime, definitely check out this non-maternity essentials blog post from last year: https://goldandgraphite.com/the-non-maternity-clothes-saving-me-this-pregnancy/

Italy is such a flex on this list 😂👏🏽
